Why am I always so tired?

Ballet Showcase. That is why. Opportunities to "play" on the weekend have to be turned down because I have so much homework to catch up on...oh and I can't forget the 7AM-12PM rehearsals every Saturday, which are getting more and more intense. It's not that I don't WANT to hang out with friends, it's just that I have so much to do, or simply I'm just too tired. I value every minute of sleep I can get. So sorry that I have to be a downer and boring all the time.

Nevertheless, this is what I signed up for, and I think in the end, it will all be worth it. I do enjoy going to rehearsals for the most part. I'm loving our dances for the performance and I'm so excited to get on that stage!!! The girls I dance with are great. Maybe you guys should just come to our performance...just maybe. :) Here are a few pictures from our photoshoot.

Mmmmm

I made these delicious vegan chocolate cupcakes. My sister-in-law gave me this recipe and it was SO good. It tasted way better than a normal chocolate cupcake (especially the day after) and the best part of it is that it has NO butter, milk, or eggs. I didn't frost them because I hate frosting, so they tasted more like chocolate muffins. Also, they are not too sweet, which is a plus.

Alyssa and I finally went to one of our favorite burger places, Smashburger. We LOVE burgers with a fried egg in it. The egg makes it taste 100 times better. The rosemary, olive oil fries are to die for. So good. We kinda like to pig out occasionally and eat burgers okay? Maybe we have a little obsession.

Hannah, Megan, Alyssa, and I went on a fun lift ride up at Sundance one night to see the full moon. It was so much fun and so pretty. We liked to ask people on the lifts going the opposite way random questions. However, some people thought it was weird to see four girls on a lift with no boys. You don't have to be on a date to enjoy a beautiful night up at Sundance.

What happened to my summer!?

So school finally started...it has seriously been the LONGEST week of my life. 8:00AM classes EVERY day. No more being lazy and eating asian food everyday and enjoying 70 degree weather in California. On the bright side, I auditioned for BYU's Ballet Showcase performing company and I made it! It has practically taken over my life and all my time. It has been so fun though. I love it and I'm excited to finally perform again, but the 7:00 AM rehearsals on Saturdays are a killer. Here are first day of school pictures. I look tired and I don't look very excited/happy...

Megan and I love our new apartment, roommates, and ward. We just need to make new friends...so we don't have to be lame and go to bed at 10:30PM on a Friday night.

Of course I have to include something about food in my post because let's be real, I LOVE food. This week, Alyssa, Megan, and I went to go try JDawgs for the first time! It was SOO delicious. I love their special sauce. I also tried this new place called the Awful Waffle with my friend Steve. I got a crepe with nutella, bananas, and strawberries and he got a waffle. It was good and it reminded me of all the crepes i got in the Bay Area.

California here I come, right back where I started from.

The day I arrived in California, my brother took me out to Japanese Ramen.

It was SO delicious! The best ramen I have ever had! One million times better than the ramen in a bag you buy at the store. So far, I've eaten all my favorite noodles that I don't have in Utah. Hands down, California has the BEST food, Asian food to be specific.

On the weekend, I helped my brother move into his new house and I got to spend some time with my nieces and nephew. My brother took us to Santa Cruz and we had a bonfire there. It was super windy and cold, I don't know how the kiddos could play in the water, but I guess they don't really care.

While I was watching my nieces and nephew play in the water, there were probably more than a million birds swarming the ocean. If you do not already know, birds are probably my biggest fears. I don't know why and I can't explain it, but it is just an unrealistic phobia that I have. The birds kept flying everywhere and diving into the ocean. Soon, the mile stretch of birds started moving closer and closer towards me and I booked it back to where we put all our stuff.

For the 4th of July, I went to my cousin's house for a BBQ. There were polish sausages, hot dogs, burgers, chicken, pineapple, and ice cream. I ate so much my stomach hurt and I couldn't move. Then everyone headed back to my cousin Clinton's house for some fireworks. It was so much fun and we kinda got a little out of hand with those sparklers. The kids were crazy!!! Lots of my cousin's neighbors were shooting off these massive and loud fireworks that were definitely illegal. It was so awesome and we enjoyed the free show. They made our fireworks look pathetic though. :) A fire truck drove throughthe neighborhood and the fire fighters handed out hats to everyone. It was fun and the kids loved it.

I'll be in California for the rest of the summer and helping my parents move into their new house. I do miss everyone back in Utah though.

Lately...

So on Tuesday, I had to say bye to this boy.

It was really hard, sad, teary, and happy, but he is going to be such a great missionary in Taiwan. I can't wait to hear all about his adventures. I'm glad Lyss was with me and she made everything better. :) Now what do we do when all our friends are gone?!?!

We keep ourselves busy and have fun adventures until they all come home!

We hiked Timp Cave and it was my first time going into the caves! It was SO cool! I loved it, minus the screaming baby that was on our tour. (Who in the world brings a 4th month old baby into a freezing/dark cave?!) I went with Lyss and her two brothers, Austin and Randon (Pika).

Then we came home and ate some yummy chicken nuggets, blueberries, and drank orange juice. After our bellies were happy, we went swimming for about 3 hours and got a ton of sun! On top of that we had Zupas for dinner, watched So You Think You Can Dance, and Inception.

It was a perfect summer day!

Summer

Summer has officially started. I finally finished Spring Term at BYU and can I just say it feels SO good! I can now hang out with friends whenever I want and not worry about studying. I am staying at Alyssa's house until the end of the month. It's going to be a party before I head back to California for the rest of the summer.

My first day of summer consisted of...
- sleeping in until whenever I want
- watching the O.C.
- going swimming/laying out in the warm sun while listening to some Ingrid
- going to see two beautiful houses in the Parade of Homes
(p.s. I want to live in one of them some day)

It was glorious and I am so excited for this summer!
